Details: Provide a secure home and nesting box for these beautiful ducks. Our Wood Duck/ Hooded Merganser nesting box is constructed with high quality pine boards treated with a natural, environmentally safe oil finish. Quality pine has a denser grain pattern than cedar, this couple with our penetrating oil finish provides excellent protection from harsh outdoor exposure and will outlast a cedar constructed duck shelter. Our duck house is properly ventilated and has drains in the floor to ensure a dry, healthy environment for its occupants. The roof is sloped slightly to shed water, but still allow adequate space that these ducks require. There are grooves cut below the opening to provide a “ladder” for ducklings to climb up when they want to peek outside or are ready to follow mom out of the nest. Mounting is easy with a heavy duty steel hanger, predrilled mounting holes and exterior grade 2 1/2 inch screws included. We proudly hand craft these in our tiny woodworking shop in Wisconsin, where we have been manufacturing top quality animal shelters since 2017.
